Then, once he seemed satisfied, he slid it back on and flexed his fingers, readjusting to the familiar weight, and moved outside. If there was a bit of hesitation on his part, it was because he was half-concerned that Peter might have done something to it and something terrible would happen in spite of the sun having set. He breathed a sigh of relief when nothing did.

"And back to the situation, I'd imagine that was exactly what it was. Apparently he didn't have much luck in the matter, but ... I doubt very highly you would have felt anything if Samuel had him in entirety." And the fact that he didn't was good. Very good.
